Customer Tool and Damage Resolution Policy
SAB TOOLS takes the care of customer-owned professional tools seriously. While professional shear service involves inherent risks, SAB TOOLS will provide a defined resolution when SAB determines that it directly caused physical damage to a customer-owned shear while the tool was in our possession.
Repair & Restoration First
If SAB TOOLS accidentally damages a customer-owned shear during handling or service, our first priority will be to responsibly repair or restore the affected shear whenever reasonably possible.
This may include accidental damage such as a broken tip, bent handle, damaged blade, pivot or component damage, damage caused by dropping the shear, or other physical damage SAB determines was directly caused by our handling or service.
If SAB determines that the shear can be responsibly restored to safe, functional professional use, the necessary corrective work will be performed at no additional charge to the customer.
If the Shear Cannot Be Responsibly Restored
If SAB determines that it directly caused the damage and the shear cannot be responsibly restored, SAB will determine the reasonable pre-damage used value of the affected shear.
Value may be determined using factors including the manufacturer and model, age, condition when received, original purchase price when reasonably verifiable, current retail price, previous sharpening or repair history, remaining usable material, component and cosmetic wear, and comparable used-market values when available.
The original retail price or current cost of a brand-new replacement does not automatically establish the value of a used shear.
SAB TOOLS Product Credit
Once the reasonable pre-damage used value has been determined, SAB will issue the customer SAB TOOLS product credit equal to that value.
The customer may apply the credit toward an eligible SAB TOOLS shear that is currently available.
If the selected shear costs more than the available credit, the customer may pay the difference.
If the selected shear costs less than the available credit, the remaining balance will remain available as SAB TOOLS product credit for 12 months from the date the credit is issued.
Product credit has no cash value and is not redeemable for cash.
Pre-Existing Conditions
This policy applies only to new physical damage SAB determines was directly caused by SAB TOOLS.
It does not apply to pre-existing damage, excessive wear, corrosion, cracks, fatigue, prior improper sharpening or repair, manufacturing defects, weakened or failing components, missing components, or other conditions that existed before SAB received the shear.
Additional Goodwill Resolution
SAB TOOLS may, at its discretion, provide an additional replacement, upgrade, service, discount, or other goodwill accommodation when circumstances warrant it. Any such accommodation is voluntary and does not create an obligation to provide the same resolution in another situation.
Limitations
The resolution provided under this policy applies to the affected customer-owned shear itself. SAB TOOLS does not provide compensation under this policy for lost income, missed appointments, lost profits, business interruption, downtime, travel expenses, sentimental value, or other indirect or consequential losses.
Acceptance or use of the SAB TOOLS product credit constitutes resolution of the qualifying damage claim relating to the affected shear.
Not Insurance
The SAB TOOLS Customer Tool Damage Resolution Policy is a customer-service resolution provided by Sharpass Blades LLC d/b/a SAB TOOLS. It is not insurance and does not constitute an insurance product.
